Matt & Betsy || Engagements || Seattle, WA
Matt. and. Betsy. . . . These two are FUN! When not drinking coffee or eating donuts these two are busy making bystanders jealous of their love and laughter. From the first time that Rachael and I met Matt and Betsy, we instantly felt relaxed as if we were talking to old friends. Which is why we had such a blast with them as we captured their engagement session. We spent one of the nicest days the Seattle area has seen in a while at some of the most recognizable places such as the famous Pikes Place Market, Kerry Park, and Discovery Park. We showed up to Pikes Place Market just early enough Sunday morning to beat the morning traffic along with the other non-early-bird photographers/couples trying to shoot in the same place. After getting the shots we wanted around Pikes Place Market without the hassle of having to battle traffic, we headed over to Kerry Park to enjoy the view of the Seattle skyline and get a few more great photos. When we got there Matt & Betsy had magically had on a whole new outfit. Awesome! Typically, the cloud cover in Seattle is just what a photographer ordered. However, today was just the opposite as it was just what Matt & Betsy wanted. SUNSHINE! Bright and Warm. But with the amazing help of Rachael and a simple diffuser, we didn’t let the harsh glaring sun ruin a perfect photo opportunity. Once we finished up at Kerry Park we headed to our final destination over at Discovery Park. I also want to mention there was yet again another magical wardrobe change on the way over apparently which made for some great shots down on the beach. But before we could actually start shooting some photos, we had just over a mile hike to get to the beach. Much worth the trek though, as the lighthouse wasn’t under construction like the state website had hinted at. We finished getting the pictures we wanted, and then started the uphill hike back while talking about everything from wedding stuff to CrossFit. Once we were back at our cars we parted ways and the anticipation began for Rachael and I to get back to the studio and see all the pictures and video. Here are some of our favorites including the famous “Gum Wall” picture as previously seen as Betsy’s Facebook profile pic! But before the photos, here is their video from the day!
